Introducing the Festival

Imagine immersing yourself in the diverse world of movement disciplines, guided by local presenters deeply connected to the fabric of our community.

Hi. I’m Rebecca. Eight years ago, I went to Thailand for the first time and experienced a movement meditation practice called DANCEmandala. As I moved and danced with a room full of strangers who felt like dear friends, I began to understand the power of connecting movement and embodiment to contemplative practice.

Over the years, as I have become a DANCEmandla facilitator and immersed myself in other conscious movement practices, I felt a growing desire to build community locally and create a space where my neighbors and friends could have a the same experience I had in Thailand years ago. Thus, the idea for a Conscious Movement Festival was born.

I approached my friends and colleagues at the Evanston Health Collective with the idea, and they enthusiastically came on board. I am delighted to be a part of our combined love, energy, and offerings.

This is just the first year of the festival, starting mindfully and locally with local teachers/practitioners and community engagement. We look forward to growing this festival into a bright part of Evanston’s vibrant life.

Watch this space for announcement about teachers, sessions, and ways to get involved with the Evanston Conscious Movement Festival. We hope to see you there!
